German swastikas and other Nazi related symbols....

A recent issue has been brought to my attention in regard to members posting images bearing German swastikas and other Nazi related symbols.

The question being asked is: Where does Chris and Robert stand on this issue? Should we allow these type of images into GF? We both have decided that we will continue to not allow it into GF. GearFetish.com was not created to delegate what politics and factions should or should not be allowed within the GF Community. That is to be left at the door. This site is for gear lovers.

For those who wear German swastikas and other Nazi related symbols, you are welcome to continue to enjoy GF for what it offers as it is today. For those who disagree with our point of view and have purchased a subscription: Your decision to support GF was made even before this issue came into view.

This is a door that we can not open. For some reason or another, there may be some pictures where German swastikas and other Nazi related symbols are visible that were approved unintentionally. We ask that if you have such photos, please kindly delete them.

Chris & Robert

As a side note:

It is quite interesting enough that just a couple of months ago that Robert and I watched two movies relating to the German/Nazi Holocaust era. These two movies are "Playing for Time" and "Paragraph 175".

I had first seen "Playing for Time" when I was probably 11 years old or so. To this day, I remember the emotions I experienced from this movie. Until recently, I was able to purchase it used on eBay as it is a very difficult film to obtain. The summary of the movie may sound bland, but within the first 15 minutes you will find it very chilling as it will invoke many emotions from anger to sympathy. When recently watching this movie, I was eating dinner and remember feeling how lucky I was to be able to have the right to live as a human being and to have food in front of me. The movie does make one feel humble.

The next movie, "Paragraph 175", is more of a one on one interview with those who were involved or held captive by the German/Nazi movement. Until watching this movie, I did not realize the origin of the upside-down pink triangle. To further think about it: Jews wore the Star of David which is composed of two triangles with one upside-down. Homosexuals were half of that of a Jew...being represented by the single, upside-down pink triangle.

I didn't mean for this to turn into a movie review....just an oddly enough coincidence that this topic had surfaced on GF.

Robert certainly is eager to post his points of view and will do so at his first opportunity.
